I just saw it now, and I only heard part of the dialogue (stupid background noise). So far, the characters look great, but let me ask all of you, how many of you would've preffered a Prime with a faceplate, period?

Also, were any of you surprised or shocked four years ago when we found out Optimus Prime was Jewish?

That was just a Family Guy joke, it's not real. Unfortunately over the years the joke of it has become less humorous and has just become borderline annoying when so many people quote it now. It's like... Dane Cook: he was funny until every one started quoting him to death. Actually I never found him funny, but all the quoting didn't help his cause with me. Anyway, that's a little off topic.

I like Optimus having a retractable faceplate, it gives him more character. Now he can have facial expressions that assist him in having personallity instead of being just a monotonous leader. Optimus Primal had a retractable faceplate; Cybertron Optimus Prime had a retractable faceplate; Movie Optimus Prime had a retractable faceplate; all of which worked for them. Why should this time be any different?

A prime can look good without a mouth, like movie Prime did. This Prime doesn't look any better with a mouth, so this time it really is there just to annoy us.
This time they've gone too far with making Prime different and original. At some point he just stops being Optimus. This is that point. He's not Optimus Prime anymore. He's Rodimus Prime now. If they wanted Rodimus Prime so badly then PUT FREAKING RODIMUS PRIME IN! Now if they DO put Rodimus in, he will just be a copy of Optimus. Character can change. I can handle that. But it still has to be the same character. They turned OP into Rod. What if they turned Megatron into Starscream or Soundwave? They might just do it.

That's classic, absolutely classic. Probably one of the best comments I've ever read.

That clip kind of reminds me of the old Go Bot cartoons.

Think about it. Rodimus Prime is young, unsure of himself, still learning, etc.
Animated Prime is young, unsure of himself, still learning, etc.
Every other Prime ever made is old, wise, confident, knows what he is doing, is looked up to, etc.

You see what I mean? Just watch Megatron's character become Galvatron. It could happen. And I never saw a mouthplate because I can't bear to watch that clip for more than 10 seconds.
