I noticed the platform for Skywarp has Starscreams name on it. Is this a self repaint of Skywarp by chance? I'm glad they made Starscream in the colors they should have in the first place. The colors they used for the Takara version wouldn't even pass for Thundercracker in my opinion. I own the Takara version of Starscream, it's cool, the color just bugs the snot out of me. I'm not a big fan of repaints, but I'm definitely buying all the seeker jets! G1 days were when repaints mean't something. Repaints are just overdone these days.

I drool when I see those Botcon 2007 exclusives of Thundercracker, Dirge and Thrust. I don't care about Dreadwing, or Bugbite. Bugbite was a big mistake. They should have made Sunstorm instead. They would have made more profit off those figures if they would have produced twice the amount they did. I think they should have did a general release of these figures.

They made a night watch Prime out of the leader class mold.

It's just a repaint of the Voyager Class Prime (which has a really different transformation for some reason). The reason why is probably because it cost less to redeco the Voyager then release another Leader repaint (they already made Nightwatch). People are also more likely to buy a repaint if it costs less (unless they are completionists). Also if you don't count the Robo-vision deco of Voyager Prime, this is it's first repaint (but I tend to count it).

On another note, does anyone know how much the U.S. release of Masterpiece Starscream will cost? I'm estimating anywhere from $50 to $100, but I'd like to know.

It's either $60 or $70 and it's going to be a Walmart Ex due out in Oct.

love the paint job but I agree w/ SS. I'd much prefer if the battle damage were the leader and make the voyager got the "night watch" treatment.

I forgot to add my opinion about the Encore Series. I think it's a great idea to re-release those figures. Doing a few paint modifications is a great idea. A good example is the Autobot symbol on Primes shoulders, they are painted on. Putting a decal on plastic that is not a flat surface just doesn't make sense. I have the Hasbro reissue of Prime and Starscream. I also have the Takara reissue of Soundwave and Megatron. Plus I have the Classics Soundwave. So I won't be buying these.

i agree with you scorpomike. repaint these days are just being repainted over and over again its like hasbro is running out of designs . i also own the starscream takara version , i thought that paint job they did sucked but hey damned if you do or dont .you gotta have it i mean its starscream.

Yeah Megatron, I'll have to admit when the inaccurate colored Masterpiece Starscream came out, I still couldn't wait to get it. There is also a rumor of Walmart getting Masterpiece Ultra Magnus. That would be cool, but I already have the Takara version with the long smoke stacks.

Sorry guys, Walmart got the G1 Ultra Magnus. He's only avilable on line and costs almost $100.

Im glad they did the good repaints on the voyager mold (though Im not getting this one, I dont think) because I dont normally get anything larger than voyager class but I might get ultra class

Is Skywarp coming to the US, too, or just Starscream?

I'm not getting a Prime without an energon axe or matrix, so THS-02 will do nicely. it has a better trailer too. I'm glad that they didn't give SS that stupid baby blue paintjob like so many fans asked for for some demented reason. He looks great in the original colors. Megatron should have the energon flail but o well. Classics Soundwave will do as it has more functionality than encore SW does, but I wonder if they fixed the deformed cassette problem that Classics SW had? MP-06 looks nice. I hope they fixed the wing problem. Starscream looks nice. Hope the fixed the wings. Why does it have to be a Wal-Mart exclusive :(
