Producer Talks Transformers 2

On his message borard/blog, Transformers Movie Producer Don Murphy gives a few comments on the status of the making of Transformers 2.

"... For those of you most anxious about TRANSFORMERS 2, the silence you hear is primarily because people are fretting about a presumed strike in June 2008. Will it happen? I don’t know- does the public care about strikes anymore in this day and age? What do rich people have to strike about anyway? I don’t have any side here ( you hear about the writers and the Producers but that actually means the STUDIOS) I just think stopping work is kind of pointless. But since no one wants to be filming IF a strike happens, everything needs to be done filming by the end of May 2008. So this is affecting the lack of news about Transformers 2 at least for now. Stay tuned..."

I'm not really sure what to say that wouldn't end up offending somebody, somewhere. But, at least the "studios" are aware that we are anxiously awaiting TF2. That's a good sign.

I've been hearing about that around the web. I truly think it won't be out until June 2009, not 2008. Its way to early! It will have to take more than a year to make a movie like that.

I agree Starscream, however I think it is possible to have the filming done in 2008, but all the post production and the animation of the bots and all will take longer than the filming, which is why 2009 is the earliest the movie could come out.

Well, Starscream, I hope you're right, because I agree it is too early, and I think they'll resolve the strikes by then.

Stupid writers strike! i hope they are at least good reasons for striking. at least we can rest easy knowing pre and post production wont take as long as the the first movie did, because they got all the schematics worked out with the CGI this time. all they really have to do is ad the new characters, and the new modes for the original bots because you know they will. they do have to sell toys after all! cant wait for that!

heres an interesting article i found we may not need to worry about it according to this:
