An episode with Elita 1, Energon Cubes, Sentinel Prime, Blackarachnia... Wow, that was outstanding. Amazing! I sure didn't see *that* origin story coming! (lets try to keep spoilers to a minimum, at least until tomorrow, huh?)

Now this episode I liked. It had the same feel to it as "Thrill of the Hunt" did. Anyone notice BA's helmet lying on the ground of the Con ship when Prime first steps inside and sees the Energon cubes and eggs?

Having an Autobot rival of Optimus Prime makes for a new and unique dynamic for Transformers cartoons. I like it. Where have we seen Sentinel Prime before? He was supposedly a Matrix carrying predecessor of the G1 Optimus Prime right?

So does this mean that this show takes place in the Beast Wars/Machines universe? Where does the "Armada" trilogy fit in to all this. And what about G1? If this show takes place in the "Beast" universe, why is there no mention of G1 in Animated? I'm so confused.

Elita 1 as Blackarachnia... isnt anyone thinking bout how things like this will affect the Transformers universe?

Hey "?", Animated is its own series in its own universe. It has absolutely no connection continuity-wise to any other series. It has references, homages, concepts, and tributes to other series, but it is in its own continuity.

As for the continuities, Beast Wars and G1 are in the same universe, but the Unicron trilogy is separate.

Finally some more interaction with a Decepticon. That deal with Sentinal and Optimus is finally answered. It looks like Optimus got the shaft over that deal. It looks like the cave in was nobodys fault. Sentinal blamed it on Optimus. Sentinals arrogance had to be what got Optimus demoted. I know Optimus will prove himself in the long run. I hope Arcee returns, I want to see female vs female action.

Great episode, and great origin for this Blackarachnia!

I just don't like the plot of Elita-01 Turning evil! But who cares it is are 1st decepticon!

No it isn't. First we had Starscream tear up Detroit, then we had Lockdown capture Prime. This is our third Decepticon.

This episode moved me. It was different from what I expected. I never knew that Blackarachnia (who was then known as Elita 1 back then) and Prime were like boyfriend and girlfriend. I did like it also that we saw Prime's dick of a rival Sentinel Prime (who we saw in the first episode if you remember). So for this episode I give an emotional two thumbs way up to Cybertron. Can't wait till the next episode.

You're in the minority there, hawkeye. Everybody else loves the episode.

And wow - complaining that a kid's show is too kiddy? The trick or treat scenes are the contrast to the flashbacks and the Blackarachnia scenes. Only you have a problem with it.

THat was an awesome episode, Black Arachnia being Elita-1 is so unexpected. She looks like a conflicted character. She's decepticon but is not totally evil. That was shown by the way she treat Optimus & her crying in the end.

I also noticed the helmet at the corner of the screen, makes me think that Black Archnia actually has a very hideous organic looking face and not a robot face at all so she needs to use the helmet to cover up.

What do you guys think?

I think this is the first time I see a transformer cry.Usually when TFs are sad in other stories it´s all more of silent mourn.But then again this girl has been hurt bad.
this episode proves that the real strength of this series is the writing and I hope they keep it that way.
About the helmet, there is a chance the hideousness she thinks she has is merely the result of the psychological trauma she experimented when mutated.(Come on! BM Blackarachnia had 6 eyes and didn´t loked that bad!)

actually sabrblade we have seen almost all the decepticons. we haven't seen the constructicons.
