I could justify reusing the name Devastator for a second round, along with Bonecrusher with two theories: 1) The Decepticons took the parts left over from the two, re built what was left of Bonecrusher and split Devastator's mind into the 6 so when they merge they become Devastator's new body. 2) Devastator and Bonecrusher might be common names, like Joe or Mike.

Well, considering that the previous character's name is officially Brawl, and the use of the name "Devastator" in the subtitles has been stated by numerous official statements from Hasbro and Robert Orci, among others, I see no problem whatsoever in them using the name Devastator fore the Constructicons. It isn't really a matter of using the same name twice, just the mistaken use of that name in a subtitle to begin with, and the proper use for the new movie. As for Bonecrusher, he could be brought back relatively easily since his head was still intact, just as Frenzy survided decapitation. What he wouldn't have survived is head destruction.

I don't think they should stray too far from the first one right away. Meaning, I think any new Autobots should be cars and the Decepticons should be mostly military vehicles. I'd love to see Sideswipe, Hound, Trailbreaker, Mirage, Sunstreaker, and Wheeljack for the Autobots and Thundercracker, Blitzwing, Rumble, Dirge, Thrust, Skywarp, and Ramjet on the Decepticon side.

I agree with mkbauch, Devastator would either have his personality split, or the OTHER Devastator is actually Brawl. The subtitle naming him Devastator was, infact, an error. Hmmmm. Or maybe, it is an un-named Herald of Unicron, kinda like in <non-TF> Marvel comics the Silver Surfer is a herald of their cosmic entity, Galactus. But mkbauch actually had a rather nifty rtcon there.

Bonecrusher would be rebuilt, as well. But not in my idea.
