Animated Comics, Blitzwing Toy: First Look

As reported earlier, IDW Publishing has made plans to release an original comic series based on Transformers: Animated. We are excited to learn today that these stories will be written by Marty Isenberg, who is also the lead writer/editor of the cartoon series! This means that comic stories will likely fit into cartoon continuity, which if it proves to be true, will be a first for Transformers mythology! The series will also feature the art of Marcelo Matere and can be previewed on the blog of IDW Publishing editor Denton Tipton.

As reported yesterday on various Transformers sites, Brian Savage the man behind Botcon, intends to take action to prevent stolen Botcon exclusive toys from showing up on auction sites such as ebay.

It appears however, that Hasbro does not intend to be as proactive. Right now you can get your first glimpse of the Transformers: Animated Blitzwing figure! If you have an extra couple hundred dollars lying around he can be yours! So, does this look like a voyager or deluxe class figure?

which is what I would be doing right now if I had succumbed to temptation and bid over $250 for 1 loose Blitzwing toy which will be available in stores for $10-20 in just a few months! Ouch.

Wow, That's a pretty amazing looking rendition of the show. What are your thoughts on our first peak at the toy? Perceptor, I know you've been looking forward to this one. BTW: I seriously doubt that'll he'll be in wave 1 2 or 3, unless he does turn out to be a voyager... We've just gotten specific info on what the deluxe waves will be for 2 and 3 in this months TFCC mag.
Wave 2: Blackarachnia, Snarl, and Ratchet
Wave 3: Soundwave, Jazz, and Oilslick
I'm still hoping that Blitzwing is a Voyager despite the recent rummer of him being a Deluxe. That rummer also stated that Sentinel Prime will be a Voyager and all prior evidence suggests that he will be deluxe.

I think it looks fantastic! Like many, I hope it's a Voyager tho a deluxe on the other hand, would look more to scale standing next to Lugnut. All this size speculation will be over in just 1 short week at Botcon!

Well, we can probably guess what the tank mode looks like. Fold down the nose into the body, fold the wings in someway, flip out the cannons, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Ah, true... Botcon will be great. I've got all the TFA shows ready to be watched. Ohio here we come! I can't wait to see what Hasbro's got in store for us this year.

Eeh Sabr, but if you fold the nose down the head comes out. A tank with a head on his butt?!? Well listen: I think thats an ACTIVATORS TOY. well at least i hope so. I love Blitzwing but they couldnt have done more worse on the jet. I said everything i have to say in the thread 'three faces of darkness'.

I think thats an activator because you can guess his transformation after 30 seconds looking at him. I think hasbro would take more pains on the "favourite Animated Decepticon".

Wow that looks cool.
The comic actually makes me sad. Its going to be the final step in vearing Transformers from its typical anime-bot style. I really wish that Hasbro would publish the TF manga in English, especially Henkei and Headmasters.
BTW if you guys really have a few hundred dollars on you, there are two Kingposeidon giftsets on ebay (Japanese piranacon with all six figures) One is incomplete but the second has all the paperwork. The last us piranacon in that kind of condition sold for over $2000, so even a little over $800 is a bargain at this point. I got my own for 550 and he is really the most kick @$$ combiner.
