Simon Furman Reveals Major Revenge of the Fallen SPOILER

I can hardly believe my eyes, I had to read it twice! It appears there is confirmation regarding the rumors regarding a certain Transformers comic book character and his role in the upcoming film. In a Comic Book Resources interview, the popular, longtime Transformers fiction author Simon Furman said,

"It's interesting that the second movie is using this character called The Fallen, which is a character that we created back in the Dreamwave days for this big series called 'The Dark Ages' which tapped into what had gone before. So these names and institutions like The 13 are rolling on into different incarnations."

In this article Simon also talks about his plans to finally flush out this idea of the "original 13 Transformers." Who have been described in Botcon fiction before but never fully flushed out... The new series to debut in 2009 "Transformers: The 13" which is billed as being, "the definitive Transformers origin tale." Very cool indeed.

Oh boy... i hesitated before i clicked on this news topic. Confirming that it is the Fallen being in ROTF opens up so many different possibilities that can happen! I JUST WISH THAT I WAS SURPRISED AND THAT I WAITED UNTIL I WATCHED THE FREAKING MOVIE TO FIND OUT!

Pfft, the movie is still 11 months away. The chances of the next 11 months going by without hearing this elsewhere, is slim to none anyway. It spoils nothing. So there's a character in the film called, "The Fallen" what does that spoil? Pretty much nothin'!

Is he an ancient ancestor from Cybertron's dark history?
Is he one of Starscream's pals?
A new bot created through the Allspark that cometh to lay the smack down on Optimus and Starscream alike????

What would YOU like The Fallen to be? Let the speculation begin!!!

This is a stretch but I would guess that the Fallen was a complete accident spawned and caused by one occasion in which the allspark was tampered with. The resuktlt was a flawed spark eventually completed by Unicron and unleashed to wreak havoc upon Cybertron, doing this just as much for Unicron as for personal revenge for causing his still flawed existance.
What I really wish they would do for the original 13 is make Leige Maximo one of the orginal 13, and instead of that awful looking monstrosity give him a transformer body with his head being a Decepticon insignia (except with looking more like a 3d head and adding techy details)

I like a couple of ideas so far. Black Starscream's origin idea and Perceptor's idea that he goes after Autobot and Decepticon alike. The great part about this is that Megatron doesn't have to show up in the second movie; they can wait for the third movie.

Ok i officially love Mr.Bay for saying what he said! Because now i dont believe anything i read! Its going to be interesting to go back and read all the news stories a year from now.

Could we pleeeease have Vector Prime? Excluding Primus, he is my fave Cybertron character! The ominus background music on the official site makes me think of something (TF-related) that's ominus. Like Unicron.

That Mike Bay has gone out and said what he said, confirming that they've intentionally gone and leaked false information... SO Awesome. That pretty much means that anything labeled a "spoiler" may or may not be. We still have absolutely NO idea if "The Fallen" really is in the film or not.

i'm all for comic-specific characters appearing in the next movie. very cool. now, if they would use some of idw story ideas and/or characters.

Hmm perhaps after what Bay has said this is all false. It'd be a shame if this is false. It would actually give the movie some story, but Bay can't have a story to his movies. That takes out time for his explosions and action...
