Hmm, this Destiny story should be quite interesting to read. I hope it doesn't contradict anything from the other prequel stories, or even either of the movies. But I don't think we'll have to worry about that, since they've been doing a good job with the movie continuity lately.

Though, I'm sirprised the Japanese haven't come up with their own stories for the movieverse like they've done with past U.S.-made series. Well, there is that one story involving the Fast Action Battlers, but is anything even known about that one?

Sabr, do you know what Optimus Prime's name is in the Japanese version of the movie? Knowing their past names and their relations to the title of the series (G1 Convoy, Beast Convoy, Galaxy Convoy, etc), I really want it to be "Movie Convoy", but I have yet to actually find out what it is. Any idea? I also hope that TFA's turns out to be Animated Convoy when they get around to dubbing the series (if they haven't already). Which leads me to my next question:

What has Japan been doing while we made the movie and animated? Have they really only been focusing on the Henki (Classics) series and not had a show like we did for a year?

His japanese name is "Optimus Prime". The japanese movie dub kept all the U.S. names and terms, including "Autobots" and "Decepticons" instead of "Cybertrons" and "Destrons", which is a first for a japanese TF dub.

Well TPR, I was surprised that they didn't even dub him as "Convoy". Keeping all the U.S. names and terms is not the usual case with a Japanese TF series. But after learning of this, I'm wondering what the Japanese would call the TF:A characters. Personally, since Tf:A Optimus is so different from past Primes, I'd like TF:A Prime to be dubbed as something like "Neo Convoy".

And, as for your second question, all the japanese have been doing is selling the Henkei and Encore lines.

Japan has is also somewhat updating (and reissueing) masterpeice figures, with thundercracker due soon, and Ultra Magnus/Skywarp getting second runs. TFA prime could also be Young Convoy or New Convoy
