About the last part, I'm a bit suspicious about some of it too. I don't think Ratchet's dead (yet). We've seen his car on set before. That, and the Scorponok thing; I don't think he'll be upgraded either.

But, who knows? Only time will tell.

And when they said Megs wasn't the first TF on Earth, they meant The Fallen was. He was on Earth as long as the All Spark was, which was longer than Megs.

If Ratchet dies, then the unknown silver car has to be Wheeljack. They replaced the Medic with the Scientist. At least I hope they did. I never did care for Blurr, Wheeljack was always my favorite from G1.

Hm, that silver car doesn't seem very "wheeljack" to me. Though now that you mention it, his "feet" might be an indication of his identity ...

Me, I'd rather that car be Jazz resurrected.
And the new Autobot Scientist, I'm still holding out hope for Perceptor.

How can anyone "know" that the TF movie series will be 5 movies long? Isn't this the sort of thing that can only be decided once box office results become known, (like after ROTF, for instance?!)

Perceptor - With the box office take for the first TF film, they MAY have green lit devlopment for 4 more movies. After all script writing is step one, and relitive to the cost of production it's a fairly small cost for Paramount.

Well, if they kill of a bunch of them on both factions they'll have an excuse to feature other Autobots and Decepticons.

5 movies! Think about that! That means we could be having this kind of speculation, debate and this level of Transformers euphoria for another 8+ years!

Think about this! 8 years * ~200 new toys per movie, plus Animated which I hope lasts even longer and has even more diverse toys... Good ef-ing LORD! I need to buy a (much) BIGGER house to hold a LOT more shelves!

There have been rumors that Jetfire was going to make an appearance in ROTF as an SR-71 Blackbird. If you remember from the cartoon, he had been frozen in the artic circle (kind of like Megs in the first movie). He could very well have been on earth longer than that idiot Megs...

Ratchet's vehicle mode has not been seen much on sets - so I'm a little concerned that they might kill him - off - but it just might be that he's a background character in the movie sequel or he has lots of scenes only in robot mode.
