Quickswitch

The Autobot's answer to Sixshot, QUICKSWITCH was easily among the best toys of 1988, (aside from the Powermasters, IMHO.)  Unfortunately he made virtually no appearances in Transformers fiction, besides an obscure, 5-page, black/white, UK only comic.  Check out his all new character page, now available in the 1988 Transformers section.

Oh finally! I've been waiting for this mold to get a character page. Yay!

However, I'm more of a fan of Sixknight than the "son of Sixshot". But still "Yay".

Still don't think Quickswitch can top Sixshot (one of my favorite characters among those not decently fleshed out in show or comic format, at least not until the IDW series) as a character, or as a figure, but I still find him an intriguing character, and based on his profile, there are questions he has about his own origin, and answers he intends to gain from Sixshot himself. I'd love to see these two characters fave off in a show, or comic at least.

Whaddya mean Sixshot wasn't decently fleshed out in show or comic format?!!

He was awesome in The Headmasters cartoon. He killed Ultra Magnus in an epic one-on-one showdown for crying out loud. Not to mention he was a ninja!

Let me rephrase that: he wasn't as well fleshed out as I would have preferred him to be, but I'm basing this on the U.S. cartoons and comics.
I did see some of the Japanese Headmaster episodes, so I did see him face off against Ultra Magnus there, but wasn't thinking about that.
Over here in our G1, we got to see him take out the Arielbots, but he didn't have much other screen time.
But I still stand by my comment that he wasn't well fleshed out in the comics UNTIL he made his appearance in IDW-verse (considering he made almost no other comic appearance, except of a cameo in DW's War and Peace, and then I'm positive they were going to bring his character into G1 ongoing if DW hadn't gone bankrupt).

I actually like Quickswitch and hope to get him sometime. If only Hasbro would take back that statement that they weren't going for sixchangers, then we could see him and Sixshot in Universe!

By the way, whoever painted the eyes on this one, you might have wanted to use a bit of a lighter blue.

I'd like to see Sixshot, Sixknight, and Greatshot return in toy form.

There was a Six Shot released in the Energon line and cartoon, but he doesn't count because A) He didn't have six modes, B) He was just a redeco of Shockblast as his younger brother and colored in red a nd gold, and C) His name was "Six Shot" instead of "Sixshot".

No sixchangers??? What a shame. When did Hasbro say that? Must have been after RID, since that version of Megatron had six modes.
I too remember the Energon Six Shot, although never got him myself, but wasn't impressed with the mold. At least not for that character anyway.
So.... interesting. In Japan, in addition to releasing Sixshot and Quickswitch, they took the two molds, changed their colors/names, and made the respective characters members of the opposite side? I'm not sure how I feel about that one.
I'd be content to just have Sixshot over here, with Quickswitch being his Autobot counter.

What? Sixknight is not a Decepticon. He belongs to no faction, but he sided with the Autobots in the end. His toy was also sold as an Autobot.

And they did not release Quickswitch in Japan at all.

As for the no Sixchangers deal, I think they said that about the Universe 2.0 line, in the one of the previous two Hasbro Q&As.

Sorry, when you mentioned Sixknight and Greatshot, I Googled them (having never heard of either). Apparently the information I found wasn't totally accurate.

Don't ignore Sixshot's IDW appearances. He had a Spotlight and was one of the main characters during the Devastation storyline.

As for Quickswitch, he's okay. He definitely should have appeared in more comics though. Oh, and the b&w comic in question he appeared in was reprinted in one of the American Titan books a few years ago. And he also appeared in one of the Ladybird books during the eighties... I forget what it was called though.

Why Google them when one can use the TFWiki? (which, unlike Wikipedia, is a reliable source)
