Ah, these guys are cool. Just paint their teal red and you've got Hyda and Buster: two of the coolest and cruelest Decepticons of all time (IMO).

These guys' Godmaster counterparts were awesome! Hydra was totally ruthless and Buster was just as cool. Both were uber powerful, being able to put up a good fight even against God Ginrai. But there most significant moment was when they demanded to be rid of their humanity and become fully robotic lifeforms (thus removing their ability to use Jinchokon, however, which was replaced by some of Devil Z's Devil Power).

If Masterforce ever gets dubbed properly, I SO want Paul Dobson (Armada Sideways, and Naraku from InuYasha) to voice Hydra.

Nice looking figures. These guys have some pretty good looking bot modes for G1. Decent by todays' standards even. I agree, too bad these guys didn't show up much. I don't think anyone really went into explaining the Power Master gimick much in the US (except the Marvel comics, and then an overview of it in MTMTE).

Actually the Powermaster gimick was fairly well explained in issue 42. But never really much utilized or followed up upon in subsequent issues.

Okay, we're getting a new Darkwing on the shelves, while those who only attended Botcon 07 got Dreadwind. Thanks a lot, Master Collector!

...hence why I said, "except in the Marvel comics".

But I must admit, I havn't read too many of the Marvel G1 comics, and boning up on it is on my "to do" list. What I've read has been pretty good (and actually, had better writing IMO than the cartoon).
