Animated cancellations here and there
Two sad pieces of information have popped up ther internet. Both of them regard the cancellation of something related to Transformers Animated.
First, BBTS has sent out an email to its customers to make known that Hasbro has cancelled the releases of the Wave 7 Voyagers Golfire Grimlock and Hydrodive Bumblebee. Both products' listsiing have been removed from the site and those who preordered them would have received a message via email that would be similar to the following:
"BBTS - Transformers Animated Voyager Golfire Grimlock CancelledTuesday, February 24, 2009. Hasbro has just informed us that this item has been cancelled, and as a result they will not be able to fill our orders. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have cancelled all preorders and removed the item from our site.
Thanks

Another sad piece of info is a rumor fromTFArchive about the possible early cancellation of the Tranformers Animated toyline itself. We knew that, since the show would be ending, the toyline would come to an ending too, but there's something confusing about this:
"Both the local Targets and local Wal*Marts (Colorado Springs, CO) have marked the Transformers: Animated line as canceled and won't be stocking up any new figures for it past what has already shipped. That means that the March/April waves won't be showing up at all in these stores.
Oddly, Universe seems to be continuing even as the seasonal reset makes a ton of room for the Revenge figures beginning to surface.
Unfortunately, the Hasbro rep checking the Wal*Mart aisles didn't really know what to make of the changes, as she knew about upcoming figures, but also confirmed that retailers were 'dumping' the Animated line."
Now while this does look convincing, as its sources are the stores themselves, we did hear from Hasbro about the upcoming Arcee and Electrostatic Soundwave figures. So, if there is some thruth to this rumor, it problaby means that the line will end not long after those two get released, as they could be the last figures of the Animated line.
Plus, according to TFW2005, the release date for the two Target exclusives Sunstorm Vs. Ratchet and Shockwave Vs. Bumblebee will be March 22nd. So, we may get them before the line goes dead as well.
