Over at TFW2005.com, some "interesting" news has been reported. The TFCon exclusive Powered Commander is being reissued by FansProject with a few additions of chrome on certain places.

The official TFCon website has also released a statement about the actions taken by Fansproject.

You know, I passed at first on this set but now, I might actually pick this set up. Chromey-goodness is always acceptable in my book!

This is both good and bad. Good because I haven't gotten it, and bad because all those who got it from TFCon are gonna be so ticked!

@Sabrblade "because all those who got it from TFCon are gonna be so ticked!"

Including me. Why even lie? Why just say that there will be a Henkei one coming soon for $60 less? It's HARD to be neutral in a news post like this!

Why hasn't Hasbro considered these things!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

I agree with JC. Hasbro's only hurting itself.

I watched the review on youtube. Why can't they make a real power master optimus prime. Its just a repaint of ultra magnus. The ultra magnus was awsome. I agree why can't hasbro come up with this stuff ? they need to give us reissues that we really want.

I've still got my fingers crossed for FansProject to release a redone classics Galvatron because let's face it, the Galvatron that Hasbro dished out was far from perfect. I think now that FP has the time to do "Complete figures" this would be the perfect opportunity to market this figure.

Though there isn't much demand for this idea, I'd still LOVE to see it happen: an upgrade kit for Henkei/classics Megatron. I mean, instead of his accesories combining to form a partical cannon, maybe we could see something more interesting like a combination similar to that of City Commanders' in order to upgrade Megatron's look to resemble more of his G1 self with new head/chest piece, a back-mounted barrel, leg extensions(allowing for a more wide variety of poses), his flail, and maybe an ammo clip in which all his accesories could be stored for alt. mode.

But I'm just brainstorming...

Or maybe an upgrade kit to turn Classics/Henkei Megs into either Super Megatron or Ultra Megatron from the Return of Convoy series.

Fans Projects should be working with Hasbro to market these to the general public. They'd be in total control, and there'd be more money in it.

@Sabr OH YEAH! That would be awesome! If they did release that set, I'd be all over that!

I went to TFCon, though I didn't pick up the Powered Commander armor. I was never very fond of that mold, and couldn't really afford it even if I did. However, I have no real problem with Fans Project releasing a different version of the Powered Commander armor in Japan, and I don't feel that it makes the TFCon version any less "exclusive". In a statement released earlier, here: http://www.fansproject.com/, Fans Project clarified that the Asian version will indeed be different than the TFCon version. On top of that, it won't be available to North American retailers and wholesalers. It is exclusive to the Japanese market. Granted, that doesn't stop US retailers from ordering from the Asian retailers, but Fans Project is not selling the Henkei version to US retailers themselves and has no control over what the Japanese sellers do after they get the product. Simply put, the TFCon version is still exclusive. The "Henkei version being released to the Japanese market will be different. It will not be identical to the TFCon version.
