War for Cybertron toyline officially confirmed

Gameinformer has posted a word from Hasbro stating an official confirmation on the release of a limited toyline to tie in with the upcoming video game Transformers: War for Cybertron, in 2010.

The latest update is as follows:
"In 2010, Hasbro will be introducing a limited assortment of Transformers figures tied to Activision’s War for Cybertron game. At this moment, this is all that we can share with you. We appreciate your understanding."

So it would seem that these figures will have a limited run and will not be full blown massive toyline on the same grand scale of the Movie toylines and/or other past mainstream toylines. But this isn't necessarily a bad thing. "Some" is better than "none", right?

That's cool. Only 5 guys in limited quantities though. Could be this years Botcon Set????

No, BotCon exclusives are always redecos/repaints and/or retools of existing molds.

This year's figure set still isn't known, but some individual figures that are known are:
* Punch/Counterpunch (redeco/retool of Universe Sunstreaker)
* Elite Guard Dion w/ Cop-Tur (redeco of Henkei! Henkei! Hot Rod, who is a retool of Universe Armada Hot Shot)
* Shattered Glass Cyclonus w/ Krunix (redeco of Universe Cyclonus)

That's a good point Saber. I forgot about them being repaints. Sorry when it said limited supplys, botcon was the first thing that popped into my head. Still I hope these are easy to find

YES! I wonder if they'll stock the WFC toys at places like GameStop as well, since they'll probably stock the game.

Limited doesn't mean we won't get all the characters. Think of the Movie line, sans all repaints and non-Movie characters, and each character only gets one toy. Limited indeed.

Game Stop has started taking reserves for The War For Cybertron. Release date is June.
