Plethora of Power Core Combiner news

Back at Toy Fair 2010, Hasbro had unveiled one of their newest Transformers called "Power Core Combiners", taking the combining gimmick to a whole new level. Some of the Decepticons revealed to be in this line of figures included Bombshock w/ the Combaticons and Smolder w/ Chopster. Also, included in the toyline is the Autobot Searchlight w/ Backwind. And recently, lots of places are reporting galleries and videos of these three sets.

First, Seibertron.com has a few images of Smolder & Chopster and Searchlight & Backwind.

Second, TFW2005 has images off all three sets in mostly all their modes.

Third, Taobao has auctions for both Bombshock and Smolder. But whta's intersting is that Smolder's page shows us what he would look like combined with Bombshock's Combaticon drones. Also, some of Bombshocks images are not showing up correctly, so you can view them by clicking the following: Image 1, Image 2, Image 3.

Fourth, KOToys has galleries of Bombshock and Smolder, showing off the detail of the figures from nearly every single possible angle known to man! And again, they show Smolder combined with the Combaticon drones.

Last, YouTube member and TF reviewer Peaugh has once again gotten his hands on some yet-to-be released figures and has put up full video reviews for Bombshock w/ the Combaticons, Searchlight w/ Backwind, and Smolder w/ Chopster. Not to mention that Peaugh is holding a contest where one can their own Smolder w/ Chopster (further details are in the video review).

I am superhyped about bombshock since I missed out on almost all the other bruticus types, the closest I came was ruination gift set that I would still be going crazy over had I grabbed it.

The figures look really good. Any idea when they are suppose to hit shelves?

i was dissopointed in the drone gimic its too much like powerrangers for my liking but the interchangability is pritty good. especially the chest plate/weapon/attachment/robot mini-cons. they have promis but i don't think an entire line would revolve around them

But that's just it. Bombshock, Skyburst, and the other drone team leaders are not Combiners in the Gestalt sense, but in the Super Mode sense. It's more similar to Grand Convoy's Super Mode and is like a homage to GoLion (except with only the torso unit being alive).

Besides, it's not like this kind of thing it is new. The first time this particular Combiner type appeared was back in 1988 as King Poseidon (Japanese counterpart of Piranacon). With him, only Turtler (Japanese Snap Trap) was real Transformer, while the rest fo the Seacons were psychotic, animalistic drones.
