With its mid summer release date drawing ever closer, Unicron.com is stepping up its coverage of the exciting upcoming videogame Transformers: War for Cybertron. Today Unicron.com will be showing up at High Moon Studios to get up close and personal! With interviews with the developers, live hands on game reviews, and news so exciting that there's an embargo until Thursday, you won't want to miss out on this coverage. I'll be heading over to High Moon studios for breakfast in the morning at 8:45am and will be there until 1pm PST, so write in any/all questions you have for the developers in the comments, and I'll do my best to get you answers! I'll try to check in on the comments thread from time to time throughout the morning to see if you have any new questions. Then, keep your eyes posted on the Events and Interviews section for a major War For Cybertron news release on Thursday!

There have been several retailer-exclusive characters announced so far (Shockwave, Jazz, Demolishor, etc.). Will there be any way to unlock all of them in the game without buying a copy from every store (perhaps a future release as DLC on XBOX Live and PSN)?

The continuity of this game has been questioned, what with the appearances of certain characters like Silverbolt, Air Raid, Grimlock, Breakdown, Brawl, Motormaster - all of which were characters who were not alive until after the Transformers crash-landed on Earth in the original 1980s cartoon (though, the various comics differed from this in some ways). Also, the inclusion of Demolishor hints of this being a nod to the 2003 Armada series, which is a separate reality from the 80s cartoon. Not to mention the new alternate modes of characters like Shockwave and Soundwave differ from their pre-Earth alternate modes that were seen in the 80s cartoon.

With all of these contradictions to past series, is this game's attempt at being a sort of "prequel" in general to the Transformers brand taking any regard to the continuity of any series in particular, or is it creating its own new continuity outside of the boundaries of other series?

No way dude, when are you going to learn, Armada/Energon/Cybertron is the same reality of the rest of TF universe, it takes place way in Earth's future, but before Optimus Primal and Megatron era characters travel way back in time to prehistoric earth and wage the Beast Wars!...

Can't wait to hear the report bro!

Oh, so many questions, so little time. How extensive will the character creator be? Will players only be able to make repaints of existing characters, or will retools be possible as well?
Also, what other classic characters besides those already revealed will appear in the game, and how many of them will recieve toys?

Well, I've got plenty of answers... even to questions you didn't know you had, but I've been told that there is an embargo until Thursday. What I can say is: after getting some hands on time with the game, I am even more pumped about this release than I already was, and I was pretty excited!
Stay tuned...

It turns out that the embargo on news/impressions/event posting on our trip to the High Moon Studios has been extended from Thursday until next week now, so keep your eyes out here, and at the Events and Interviews blog next week for all kinds of exciting WFC information coming soon!

My question is, what is there co-op play, and if so what is it's extent (online?)
