Neil Kaplan, the voice of Optimus Prime in Transformers: Robots in Disguise has been busy lately doing some online interviews talking about all sorts of voice over goodies, of course including his time in the iconic role. I don't know that I'd consider this "the voice of Optimus Prime", more like "a voice of Optimus Prime". I don't think I'm alone when I believe that Peter Cullen is "THE voice of Optimus Prime".

Neil seems like a cool guy, and I won't discredit his work, but...he's just not Optimus to me.

He didn't say "the voice of Optimus Prime". He said "the voice of Optimus Prime in Transformers: Robots in Disguise", which is exactly what Neil Kaplan was/is (and quite good at it, might I add).

It's funny that you say that Sidewinder, because Neil even says that very same thing in his interviews. He does completely recognize that Peter Cullen will always be the true OP, and that he only filled the role. He really is like the coolest guy ever. If you ever have the chance to meet him, definitely do so.

Hopefully I will get to meet him one day. He really did come across as a genuinely nice guy.
