Primus is out! Yup, that's right, TFW2005 member Schnafe found Cybertron Primus at a Target store in Tucson, Arizona (see here for a receipt photo). And as if that wasn't enough yet, for some reason the scanner rang him for the price of the recently clearanced Supreme Starscream toy, which is a mere $11.94. It's highly unlikely, however, that this should be taken as an indication of a general trend.
There's a downside to this story, though: The Primus Schnafe found was the version that comes without the Unicron head, even though the "head" version was said by Hasbro to be limited to the "initial quantities". Since the "Unicron head" version of Primus has already been released in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, New Zealand and Australia, only time will tell if and when that version will show up at US retail as well.
In any case, remember to report you own sightings of Primus (without Unicron head) here; and if you happen to find the version with the head (the head accessory is advertized on the packaging, so you should be able to tell whether someone sneaked it out of the packaging or whether you found the genuine "headless" version), you can report it here.
In other news, the San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Alternators Nemesis Prime has been officially released in Hong Kong. Yup, that's right, a toy that's supposedly an exclusive in the USA is now available as a mass retail release in Hong Kong. Reputable Hong Kong-based eBay sellers as well as Action-HQ, an online retailer that is among the sponsors of various Transformers fansites, are now offering the toy. While the prices themselves might be a better alternative as compared to US-based eBay scalpers who will buy off multiples at SDCC in order to sell them at inflated prices, keep in mind that shipping from Hong Kong will add to the price.
Lastly, TFW2005 have posted official bios for the Classics toys Megatron, Astrotrain, Bumblebee and Rodimus here.
