SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT CELEBRATES THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE BY REVEALING TRANSFORMERS FAN VOTING RESULTS! TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE 20TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL EDITION DVD To Be Released November 7th
New York, New York, August 8, 2006 — In celebration of the date of the 20th anniversary of the original theatrical release of TRANSFORMERS: The Movie, the home entertainment group of SONY BMG Music Entertainment today revealed the results of the recent fan voting for the favorite clip from the classic animated film. Voting was performed in advance of the November 7th release of the TRANSFORMERS: The Movie 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD.
Over the last seven days, fans logged on to www.TRANSFORMERSthemovieDVD.com and voted for their favorite clip from TRANSFORMERS: The Movie. Thousands of votes were cast among eight memorable scenes from the film. With over 50% of the votes, the winning scene featuring the fight between Galvatron and Hot Rod inside Unicron will be posted today on www.TRANSFORMERSthemovieDVD.com -- exactly 20 years to the day of the original theatrical release of TRANSFORMERS: The Movie.
The August 8th anniversary date marks the first in a series of “TRANSFORMERS Tuesdays” where, every Tuesday, new information regarding the 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD will be posted on www.TRANSFORMERSthemovieDVD.com. Fans will be able to keep tabs on all of the happenings with this special DVD, including details about the exclusive footage and interviews and other spectacular materials that will be included on this title.
For the 20th anniversary edition, Sony BMG Home Entertainment completely re-mastered and color-corrected the film and will present Optimus Prime, Megatron and the rest of the star-studded Autobots and Decepticons in true splendor through three distinct versions: 16x9 Widescreen presentation, the Autobot Matrix of Knowledge presentation featuring trivia and fun facts about the movie itself; and a full-screen edition.
