I must say, the moment that got me was when (and please excuse my lack of knowledge on names) the helicopter is pulling in and the hologram glitches. (I had to ask TPR what it meant like 30 times to get him to speak to me during the trailer. I had no idea they used holograms.) Also when the scorpion guy's tail came up behind the soldier. Oh my, it did look good. I will swallow my dislike and admit it. The movie looks amazing – go decepticons.

The key is to know more about your wife/girlfriend than you do about TFs. And knowing is half the battle.

But BP that's so hard! They make guide books to the Transformers! And most of the time, IT IS A BATTLE! That means that I go in losing half the battle from the start!? I always expected to lose, I just didn't realize that I had already lost from the begining...

I'm afraid have no wise words of wisdom to offer. My situation was different. :)

My wife and I started dating in mid 1991, following the era of "Action Masters" when interest level was at an all time low. The only years in the history of Transformers that there were no new toys, no shows, no comics, nothing. I was in college then and by the time G2 came out, which was only mildly interesting to me, we had been dating for 3-4 years. My wife would jokingly say, "I hid my obsession w/ TFs until after we got married." (just to sucker her in!) That's just when TF's and the fandom was starting to pick up steam. My bros. and I went to our first Botcon in the summer of 1995, the weekend of my wife's bachelorette party! She would joke, "By then, it was too late for me to turn back!" :) lol!

BTW, I know, who am I to question the great Peter Cullen, but isn't sentient pronounced, "sench-e-ent" with the first t an almost 'ch'/silent sound??? Or have I been saying it wrong all these years? Is it pronounced "sent-e-ent?"

I told my girlfriend up front that I was a huge Transformers Fan, mostly of the Beast Wars. She took it well, considering that she had watched a little bit of BW herself. Even so, she had no idea what she was getting into. She's repeatedly reminded me of the car that I could buy if I were to sell my TFs. lol.

And no, I'm pretty sure that Mr. Cullen said it wrong. I've always known it with a 'ch' sound as well. Figures, right? The "Winning Line" (I think it was rigged) has a word that he can't pronounce?

The movie trailer was incredible. It just blew me away. The bots definately look better in live-action motion thanthey do as stills and drawings.

As for Cullen's pronunciation of "Sentient", goes, he did pronounce it correctly. It is pronounced "SEN-tee-ent, not SEN-chee-ent. It can also be pronounced SEN-shent

How many ways can you pronounce sentient? I looked it up on dictionary.com and found:
sent-E-ent
sent-che-ent
sen-she-ent
sen-shunt

Yeah, you told me, TPR, but huge wasn't the right word. No, not at all. I wasn't properly prepared with "huge". I do believe that had anyone videotaped my reaction when I first saw your room, it would have won $100,000 on Funniest Home Videos.

I've come a long way though, you have to admit it! (I still won't touch the figures though, I'm afriad I'll break them =] )

lol GFoTPR, i could only imagine how crazy/awsome TPR's dormroom must look like now with all those TF's in it. I'll say this though: I bet its the only dormroom with a light-up Unicron in it! lol

Actually, Bea, I have a light up Primus. I didn't bring Unicron simply because he comes apart a little too easily. lol

haha that Primus figure wouldnt happen to be the one with Unicron's head would it. I haven't found anyone else who has that figure to compare how cool it is with! :-(
