Update: Official Unicron.com holiday weekend "Boycot Spider-Man 3 Weekend" continues. Okay Transfandom, The bar has been set. We've got to beat $59 million in day 1! (For any Transformers traitors out there that went and saw the fim, I must ask, is the Transformers trailer paying in Spidey 3? (PLEASE say yes!)

We declare today an official Unicron.com holiday, "Boycot Spider-Man Day!" C'mon, the film looks fine and yeah, I'll definitely see it. But our personal goal is to do everything in our power to help Transformers (overall) and opening weekend beat out the likes of Spidey and other supposedly decent summer blockbusters... To that end, we are NOT seeing it opening weekend and encourage you to do the same!

(Thanks to Allspark and TFW2005 for the heads up) Many of you may have seen the LATimes has an article today interviewing Michael Bay and talking about Transformers. It's a pretty good read and optimistic about the prospect of TF doing well, although still the underdog next to films like Spidey.... Here's one outstanding quote:

"...The studio likes what it has seen and is already developing a "Transformers" sequel script..."

Music to our ears!!! Now here's my question for us all to ponder:

Among all the many hundreds of Transformers characters who didn't 'make the cut' to become characters in the first Transformers movie, who would *you* most want to see introduced, if Transformers 2 ever gets made???

Here's my vote. If they can find a way to make a robotic scorpion in TF1, then they just absolutely MUST find a way to get Grimlock and the Dinobots in don't they???

How about Ultra Magnus, but ONLY IF he had a trailer/exo-armor. More relasticly I'd like to see a full seeker line up, Hot Rod, and Kup. I'd also like to see Soundwave. But, I have no idea what to make for his alt mode a boom box just wouldn't do.

Isn't it obvious? I want to see an '86 Pontiac Fiero GT as Side Swipe.
I beleive a Dodge Magnum would suit Soundwave.

unicron, shockwave, one of the combiners (probably bruticus since they already have brawl and blackout), omega supreme, jetfire/skyfire, some female transformers,
other primes (sentinel and such), alpha trion, many others I can think of but these are the best right now. Would be cool if megs died and decepticons were led by a fembot.

somehow, not to make you sad or anything, but I dont see a character like hot rod making it into the final productions. I see maybe a soundwave,devastator,thundercracker,my favorite gothic seeker skywarp, or someone like rumble showing up.

Off topic as a comment on my previous post if megs was offed for a female decepticon leader she would need a sleek shape like an X-29 alt mode. If I had the chance to design the character I would make her a purple X-29 that would make her look vaguely like a female G1 Cyclonus. She would need to be faster, more agile, and smarter than most TFs. Instead of a slow reloading, hard hitting cannon like megs she would need a fast repeating machinegun like weapon. Like comparing Quake2's BFG to its hyperblaster. Also I would give her Skywarp's shortrange teleport ability. Her name would have to be something like Terrax or Trillion. All that said though she wouldn't fit into this topic because we are talking about TFs that already exist :(.
So I will stop fantasizing and just end this comment.

Cyberwuss had some good suggestions with Unicron and some of the combiners. But I would like to see Jetfire for one because the Decipticons already have a jet a TF in the air compared to none on the Autobots side of the ball. For combiners, maybe Superion and Devastator. But having Soundwave as a Dodge Magnum would be pretty cool!!

Why no chorus of agreement for Grimlock?! (Slag and Snarl too!) Can you imagine a real robot T-rex running around NYC?! Trust me when I tell you, they can make a silly little robotic scorpion look cool. Grimlock would absolutely haul @$$!

It's easy to imagine them bringing Jetfire in. Just like in the G1 days, the Autobots could use some air power... I'd be in favor of that. I'm also totally w/ you guys in the need for a female TF. Not sure I want her as a new Decepticon leader tho.

Unicron??? Hm, lets save him for Transforemrs 4! :) Me, I'd vote for the same characters in TF1, but throw in Jetfire and a couple of Dinobots, versus a new decpticon combiner team (any one...) Lets start drooling for TF2!

Autobots:
Hot Rod, Kup, Ultra Magnus (with or without exo suit), human exo-suits, and, of course, Grimlock.

Decepticons: Soundwave, Shockwave, the other seekers, insecticons, MAYBE Trypicon near the end..

in general, fembots, triple-changers, combiner teams, and unicron would all be awesome to see, or at the very least mentioned, or in unicron's case, foreshadowed. :-D

Im going to have to agree with perceptor, I wouldn't really like a female decepticon as a major villian. though it does sound cool for a character, not really good for a leader.Grimlock would be a cool character just as long as he didn't use the lingo he did back in the 80's! also, if any of you would like to join in on a guild that I am currently forming on gaiaonline.com please respond. I am in need of a Decepticon only army. when you get to gaia you'll have to create a profile though so if have you have a slow computer like the one that I have back home, I wouldn't recomend hurting yourself over this. my member name is also Lord megatron. just send me a mail.

Some of the transformers you all mentioned would not make since. How about Rail Racer(three bullet trains), Blurr has maybe a Porche, Cliffjumber as a hatchback of some sort and Cosmos as an actual spaceshuttle.

I think that unicron should wait for the third and die in the fourth maybe he'll suffer from Davey Jone's sendrom for those of you familiar with pirates of the Carribean 2 and 3. That way we'll get twice the unicron and twice the fun of seeing an ACTUAL PLANET be devoured.

There r quite a few, here r some of them: Shockwave, Soundwave, Unicron, Dinobots, 2 combiners, 1 for each side, Jet/Skyfire, and Arcee or some other female Autobot.

I would like to see hot rod, kup, the dino bots, arcee (or any other female transformers), maybe some beast war transformers or a combinator transformer like the constructacons forming devastatetor. or maybe a triple changer like springer from the cartoon movie (be able to go from one from to another and then to robot form).

as to sound wave why not a boom box. it looks like little frenzy in the movie is a boom box of some sort. maybe make soundwave a satalite car like a news van or something. but if they have soundwave they better have laser beak and the other "cassettes" transformers like frenzy. they don't have to be "cassettes" but just little transformers that work for soundwave. like if sound wave is a news van, make laser beak be the satalite dish or the news camera (like in transformers armada).

You just said yourself why not a boombox for Soundwave. His "cassettes" need to be incorperated into his alt mode. Frenzy is alreday a boombox so Soundwave would have to be something bigger. I'd actually like to see him done in the concept of the Cybertron Soundwave. A jet of some kind where the bombs on the wings were his cassettes.

Ok, I've got one, how about since soundwave's minnions have to incorperated into his alt mode how about if he was some sort of decked out car and frenzy could be folded up when in vehicle mode and could be put into soundwave's dashboard to act as an upgraded sound system. And when he transformed he could posess the ability to still powerlink with his smaller bretheren to make an over-the-sholders mounted harmonic wave cannons sort of like the way classics bumblebee is with his jet pack.

I'm hearing a lot of call for tripple changers, as well as the dinobots and combiners... so why not dream. We know they wouldn't combine anything like G1, they'd be way more complicated! Also Grimlock wouldn't really fit the "trying to be in disguise motif" so he should clearly be a big truck or tank that turns into a robot AND a robo T-rex. On top of that, who hasn't dreamed of seeing a really kickass dinobot combiner team. So pick another dino bot, give them the same triple changer treatment, and make them very intricately combine. Hey they did it in the Energon line. Also Brawl should bring in his buddy Blitswing and form the Combaticon combiner. Now that would ROCK.

Just because something has the potential to be better doesn't mean you should be vengeful if what you're hoping for doesn't happen. You are seriosly overreacting. Boycotting Spider-Man 3 will get you an angry mob at your doorstep, looking for your blood. Sometimes things work, sometimes they don't. Just because they don't doesn't give you the right to get all uppity about it.

I will wait until things quiet down before I state my suggestions.

Ha, Megan Fox wins hands down! That being said I'm going to see SM3 because Venom is my favorite spiderman villain and I've already seen the first 2. I still expect Transformers to step on all the other superheros like bugs though. At least SM3 isn't a DC comic movie the best of which was Batman Begins. (Marvel > DC)

Oh. Don't know about it in your markets.. but in Saginaw, MI at the local theater.. first trailer they showed when I went to see SM3... was Transformers. Should be noted that the packed place was.. excited when they saw it. I'm hoping this movie breaks some records.

Went to see spidey 3 yesterday, really good!! Trans will beat it out on opening weekend though. Yes the trans trailer was playing, in my local theater anyway. July 4th cannot get here fast enough!
